Just right before i started blogging i received this really amusing sms from roommate. she said that this small bear, that we both have because it hangs on the bags we bought together, lost his hand -.- one of its hand dropped off i think. tsk. plus you know she's really a soft toy fanatic. how ironic.
today's been a pretty hectic day. training in the morning then gp then elections. i guess today's almost like the official day we stepped down. honestly i do feel a little sad. i guess some things just did not end the same way i imagined it to be. like how i hope it was a better season for us and how i thought the team will be super close at the end of nats. sigh. sometimes some things just can't be forced. i think i really learnt alot as the vice captain of the team: to admit your own mistakes, to view things more objectively, to be less judgmental and alot more. yeah and to take things in your stride.
the most vivid memories i have now of netball trainings aren't the most recent ones but those when jeanne, yaoen, hazel, joey, pauline and me trained tgt under ms yim. that was 2 years ago. we'll all shower after morning trainings during the holidays and then head to the 'wheribee's' cafe at coronation plaza for lunch. i can't remember if wenjia was there then. mel joined us afterwards. it was a small but cozy team. we trained till we felt like dying under the scorching sun. we trained till we turned five times darker than we used to be except for pauline maybe; her skin just doesnt get tanned easily. we shared the butterflies in our stomach as we waited for coach to come and bombard us with sadistic but beneficial trainings. remember the 10 suicide runs? each under 30 seconds? or the millions of steps we had to jump on the staircase at the national stadium. the legs felt detached from individual's body but the hearts of all joined. those are the good old days. i love the teams after that period too but they're just not the same.
here, i wish the new exco all the best. indeed it's hard to lead a team, but you'll learn along the way.
Indeed, to join netball was probably the best decision i've made in the past 4 years. the others are pretty much screwed up haha.
it's late. goodnight!
